a look back on completed work in 2020
Even though 2020 was a year we wouldn't choose to live through again, we were very fortunate to be selected to complete work on some great projects and would like to showcase some of the awesome projects we worked on.
Giltrap Ag Engineering Robotics:
We were stoked to finish an install at Giltrap Ag for their new Robot Welder. See above!
Work doesn’t feel like 'work' when we get to experience some of the amazing new technology in a local company.
Our ongoing project with the Kiwihouse:
We love working on the Kiwihouse Project, it's challenging and exciting to see the redevelopment work start on such an iconic local attraction.
Help for Farmers
We have completed a fair bit of farm work including a new build cow shed early on in the year, digging in ducting for a cow shed and joining damaged cables. You can't beat working alongside awesome, dedicated contractors on a project like this where everyone's part counts. It is really satisfying to see it all come together and we would love to work on similar projects in the future!

summer vs winter electricity... how much does it change?
The answer is - it depends on where you live in New Zealand and how your house and hot water are heated! The average kiwi home uses about 7,000kWh of electricity.
Electricity consumption will vary from season to season but typically it is usually at its highest on cold winter evenings when people are home cooking and want to heat their houses.
You might think by default that summer has a nationwide low and peak in winter. HOWEVER there are some regions that may have higher demand during summer. For example, when people turn on air-conditioning or when farmers use large irrigation pumps.
On a daily basis, demand for electricity peaks in the morning when people are starting their day, as well as in the evening when they arrive home, needing to cook dinner and tune into their entertainment channels.
These maps above show how electricity use changes across NZ for summer, autumn, winter and spring.
